To Prepare:

Tear the bag open at the top, utilizing the pre-cut notch. Pour approximately 1.5 cups of boiling water into the bag. Give the contents of the bag a stir, ensuring you are getting down into the corners. Seal the bag. Let stand for approximately 15 – 20 minutes and then enjoy!

Other Ways to Enjoy:

Many enjoy this meal as it is on backcountry trips, but there is plenty you can do to change it up a bit! One of our favourite ways to eat this meal is burrito style. This involves adding slightly less water than the instructions state. Once the stew is rehydrated, but very thick, put it in a wrap, with some fresh avocados, and you've got a delicious backcountry burrito! Have some extra cheese? Throw that on too! This is also a great way to make this meal go a bit further as with the addition of the wrap and avocado, you can split one bag between two. If there are other ways you enjoy this meal, we’d love to hear, or better yet, tag us in your pictures telling us your favourite way to eat our Black Bean Stew!
